Acoustic repertoire of understudied bats

This project aims to document the acoustic repertoire of understudied bat species in Costa Rica by associating vocalizations with specific social behaviors observed in their roosts. By identifying and analyzing the behaviors and calls of at least six species, we intend to uncover patterns that contribute to understanding group coordination, social learning, and acoustic signal variation. Ultimately, the findings will provide foundational data for advancing research on bat communication.
