How roosts modulate communication

Although previous research shows that roosts amplify social calls in disc-winged bats, it is unclear whether they actively select roosts based on their acoustic properties or adjust their calls to enhance transmission. This study investigates the acoustic properties of their roosts, whether bats modify their calls for better transmission, and if they prefer roosts that maximize the range of social calls.
