Silvia Chaves Ramírez
Predoctoral Fellow
Silvia's research investigates how individual differences in sensory and cognitive abilities shape collective decision-making. She will assess variations in sensory and cognitive skills across different habitats, exploring whether groups rely on specific skilled individuals or make shared decisions during daily roost searches. Her work aims to bridge the gap in understanding the role of individual traits in shaping group behaviors, with broader implications for animal sociality and resource use in diverse ecological contexts. Her predoctoral fellowship is funded by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
